Ingredients
16 oz penne pasta
1 lb lean ground beef (90/10)
24 oz marinara sauce
3 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
4 oz beef pepperoni
1 tbsp Italian seasoning
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
Boil a large pot of salted water and cook the penne pasta until al dente.
Drain the pasta thoroughly and set aside.
Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat until no pink remains.
Drain any excess fat from the skillet.
Stir the marinara sauce and Italian seasoning into the beef until well combined.
Combine the cooked pasta and meat sauce in a large mixing bowl or directly in the baking dish.
Transfer the mixture to a 9×13 inch baking dish.
Top evenly with shredded mozzarella cheese and beef pepperoni slices.
Bake for 30 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Notes
Substitute penne with rotini or rigatoni if preferred. For the best melt, shred your own mozzarella cheese from a block rather than using pre-shredded varieties. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
