Description
These Oven-Baked Cabbage Burgers are hearty, savory patties made with ground beef and finely shredded cabbage, perfect for a weeknight family meal.
Ingredients
1.5 lbs ground beef
4 cups finely shredded green cabbage
1 large egg, lightly beate
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1/2 cup finely chopped yellow onio
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon dried dill
1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper
- Finely shred the green cabbage using a food processor, mandoline, or sharp knife
- Sauté finely chopped yellow onion in a skillet with olive oil until softened, about 5-7 minutes. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute; let cool slightly
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, shredded cabbage, cooled onion and garlic, beaten egg, breadcrumbs, Worcestershire sauce, dill, smoked paprika, black pepper, and salt
- Mix the ingredients gently until just combined. Avoid overmixing
- Divide the mixture into 6-8 equal portions and form patties about 3/4-inch thick. Make an indentation in the center of each patty
- Place patties on the baking sheet and brush tops with olive oil
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway, until browned and cooked through (internal temp of 160°F)
- Let the burgers rest for a few minutes before serving
