Description

A rich, deeply flavorful sauce that transforms frozen ravioli into a gourmet meal, made with simple ingredients and perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

2 tablespoons Olive Oil
1 large Yellow Onion, finely diced
4 cloves Garlic, minced
1 (6 ounce) can Tomato Paste
1 (28 ounce) can Crushed Tomatoes
1 (15 ounce) can Diced Tomatoes
1 cup Vegetable Broth
1 teaspoon Dried Basil
1 teaspoon Dried Oregano
1/2 teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes
1/2 cup Heavy Cream
1/4 cup Fresh Parsley, chopped
1 teaspoon Granulated Sugar
Salt to taste
Black Pepper to taste
1 pound Fresh or Frozen Ravioli


Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the finely diced onion and cook until softened, about 5-7 minutes
  2. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another minute. Add the tomato paste and cook for 2-3 minutes
  3. Pour in the crushed tomatoes, diced tomatoes, vegetable broth, dried basil, oregano, red pepper flakes, and sugar. Stir thoroughly
  4. Bring the sauce to a simmer, then reduce heat to low and cover partially. Let it cook for 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally
  5. Stir in the heavy cream and chopped parsley. Cook for an additional 5 minutes
  6. Season with salt and black pepper to taste
  7. Cook the ravioli according to package directions. Drain and serve with the sauce, garnished with additional parsley

Notes

Use high-quality canned tomatoes for the best flavor.
