Description
Tasty Teriyaki Chicken Skewers are a celebration of bright, comforting flavors, perfectly glazed and tender, making any meal an occasion.
Ingredients
1.5 lbs Chicken breasts, boneless and skinless, cut into 1-inch cubes
1 tbsp Sesame oil
½ cup Low-sodium soy sauce
¼ cup Honey or brown sugar
2 tbsp Rice vinegar
1 tbsp Fresh ginger, grated
2 cloves Garlic, minced
1 tbsp Sesame oil
1 tbsp Cornstarch
2 tbsp Water
2 tbsp Sesame seeds (optional)
2 green onions, thinly sliced (optional)
Wooden or metal skewers
Instructions
- Prepare the Teriyaki Marinade by whisking together soy sauce, honey (or brown sugar), rice vinegar, grated ginger, minced garlic, and 1 tbsp of sesame oil
- Marinate the Chicken by adding the cubed chicken to the marinade, tossing to coat, and refrigerating for at least 30 minutes
- Prepare Skewers by soaking wooden skewers in water for at least 30 minutes
- Thread the Skewers by removing the chicken from the marinade and threading pieces onto skewers
- Cook the Skewers using a grill or oven until cooked through and charred or browned
- Thicken the Reserved Teriyaki Sauce by simmering the reserved marinade and adding a cornstarch slurry until thickened
- Glaze and Serve by brushing the skewers with thickened sauce and garnishing as desired
Notes
Marinate for 2-3 hours for better flavor.
Double the teriyaki sauce recipe for extra dipping sauce.
