Ingredients
3 ¼ cups All-purpose flour
1 packet (2 ¼ teaspoons) Active dry yeast
2 tablespoons Sugar
1 teaspoon Salt
1 cup Warm water (110°F)
3 tablespoons Olive oil
2 tablespoons Unsalted butter, melted
3 cloves Garlic, minced
1 tablespoon Fresh rosemary, chopped
1 tablespoon Fresh parsley, chopped
1 tablespoon Fresh thyme, chopped
1 ½ cups Shredded mozzarella cheese
½ cup Grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, yeast, sugar, and salt. Create a well in the center and pour in the warm water and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms
- Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface. Knead for about 8-10 minutes, until smooth and elastic. Let it rest in a greased bowl covered with a damp cloth for about 1 hour, until doubled in size
- While the dough rises, prepare the filling. Mix the melted butter, minced garlic, and chopped herbs in a small bowl
- Punch down the risen dough and roll it into a rectangle about 9×13 inches. Spread the garlic herb mixture evenly over the dough. Sprinkle with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese
- Starting from one of the shorter sides, tightly roll up the dough to form a log. Pinch the seam to seal. Place seam-side down in a greased loaf pa
- Cover the loaf and let it rise for an additional 30 minutes
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the loaf for 30-35 minutes, until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped
- Allow it to cool on a wire rack before slicing
Notes
For a glossy crust, brush the top with a little melted butter once it’s out of the oven.
Store the bread in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
