Description

This Sweet Spicy Chicken Wings Recipe is a delightful blend of crispy chicken wings enveloped in a glossy, sticky sauce that combines the perfect balance of sweetness from honey and brown sugar with the spicy kick of sriracha and red pepper flakes. Ideal for game days, casual dinners, or as a sophisticated appetizer, these wings are sure to become a crowd favorite.

Ingredients

Scale

2 ½ pounds Chicken Wings
1 tablespoon Olive Oil
½ cup Honey
¼ cup Light Brown Sugar, packed
¼ cup Sriracha Sauce
2 tablespoons Soy Sauce
1 tablespoon Apple Cider Vinegar
1 tablespoon Minced Garlic
1 teaspoon Grated Fresh Ginger
½ teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes
¼ teaspoon Black Pepper
¼ teaspoon Salt
2 tablespoons Cornstarch
2 tablespoons Cold Water
Sesame Seeds, for garnish
Fresh Chopped Cilantro or Green Onions, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Chicken: Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels. Place dried wings in a bowl, drizzle with olive oil, and season with salt and black pepper. Toss until evenly coated
  2. Bake the Wings: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Arrange wings in a single layer without overcrowding. Bake for 45-50 minutes, flipping halfway through
  3. Make the Sweet Spicy Sauce: Combine honey, brown sugar, sriracha, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and red pepper flakes in a saucepan. Simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally
  4. Thicken the Sauce: In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and cold water to create a slurry. Add this to the simmering sauce, whisk until thickened, about 1-2 minutes
  5. Coat the Wings: Transfer baked wings to a bowl and pour sauce over them. Toss gently to coat the wings evenly
  6. Serve and Garnish: Place the coated wings on a platter. Garnish with sesame seeds and fresh herbs. Serve hot

Notes

Ensure wings are fully cooked to 165°F (74°C).

For extra crispiness, use a wire rack for baking.
