Description
Soft, chewy Red Velvet Crinkle Cookies coated with powdered sugar — a stunning holiday dessert with cocoa flavor and festive color.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tbsp milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp white vinegar
- 1–2 tsp red food coloring
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar for coating
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets.
2. Whisk flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
3. Cream butter and sugars until fluffy.
4. Add eggs, milk, vanilla, vinegar, and food coloring.
5. Combine with dry ingredients to form dough.
6. Chill 1 hour.
7. Roll into balls, coat with powdered sugar, and bake 10–12 minutes.
8. Cool before serving.
Notes
Chill the dough to create well-defined cracks.
Use gel food coloring for richer color and less added liquid.
Store cookies in airtight containers at room temperature for up to 5 days.
