Ingredients
14 ounces Phyllo dough, thawed
16 ounces Feta cheese, drained and patted dry
1/2 cup Olive oil, plus extra for brushing
1/2 cup Honey
1–2 teaspoons Red chili flakes, to taste
Fresh mint leaves, chopped (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper
- Dry the feta cheese with paper towels and cut it into 1-inch by 2-inch sticks
- Lay one sheet of phyllo dough on a work surface, brush with olive oil, place another sheet on top, and brush again. Repeat with a third sheet
- Cut the phyllo stack into 3-4 equal strips
- Place a feta stick at the bottom of a phyllo strip, fold over, tuck in the sides, and roll tightly into a cylinder
- Place the roll seam-side down on the baking sheet and brush the tops with olive oil
- Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown and crispy
- Heat honey and chili flakes in a saucepan until warm and infused, then drizzle over baked rolls before serving
Notes
Make sure to keep unused phyllo sheets covered to prevent drying out.
If the feta is too wet, it may cause the phyllo to become soggy.
