Description

Mushroom Shallot and Herbed Goat Cheese Tarts are a delightful blend of earthy mushrooms, sweet shallots, and tangy herbed goat cheese encased in a buttery pastry shell. These tarts are perfect for impressing guests or enjoying a treat at home.

Ingredients

Scale

1 sheet Puff Pastry, thawed
2 tablespoons Olive Oil
1 cup Mushrooms, thinly sliced
2 Shallots, thinly sliced
3 ounces Herbed Goat Cheese, crumbled
1 tablespoon Fresh Thyme Leaves
1 Egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Salt and Pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil. Sauté mushrooms and shallots until soft and golden, about 5-7 minutes
  3. Season with salt, pepper, and thyme. Stir and set aside to cool slightly
  4. Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface. Cut into four equal squares and place them on the prepared baking sheet
  5. Evenly distribute the mushroom mixture onto each square, leaving a small border around the edges
  6. Top with crumbled herbed goat cheese
  7. Brush the pastry edges with the beaten egg
  8. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the pastry is puffed and golden brow
  9. Remove from the oven and let the tarts cool on a wire rack before serving

Notes

For perfectly crisp tarts, ensure that the puff pastry is well-chilled before baking.

Store any leftover tarts in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days.
