Description

Mini Grilled Cheese Hawaiian Rolls are delightful, comfort food treats that combine the sweetness of Hawaiian rolls with gooey melted cheese, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

12 Hawaiian sweet rolls
4 tablespoons Unsalted butter, softened
8 ounces Medium cheddar cheese, freshly shredded
4 ounces Monterey Jack cheese, freshly shredded
Optional: A pinch of garlic powder
Optional: A sprinkle of dried parsley


Instructions

  1. Slice the Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally
  2. Spread half of the softened butter on the cut side of the bottom halves of the rolls
  3. Sprinkle the cheddar cheese followed by the Monterey Jack cheese on the buttered bottoms
  4. Spread the remaining butter on the cut side of the top halves of the rolls
  5. Assemble the sandwich by placing the top halves on the cheese-covered bottoms and press lightly
  6. Preheat a skillet over medium-low heat and add a bit of butter
  7. Place the assembled rolls in the skillet butter-side down and cover with a lid
  8. Cook for 5-7 minutes until golden and the cheese starts to melt
  9. Flip the entire block carefully and cover again. Cook for another 5-7 minutes until golden brown and cheese is melted
  10. Remove from skillet, let cool slightly, then cut into individual rolls and serve

Notes

For the best flavor, use freshly shredded cheese instead of pre-shredded.

You can substitute other cheeses or add meats and vegetables as desired.
