Homemade jalapeno Poppers are crispy, cheesy, and perfectly spicy, making them an ideal crowd-pleaser for any occasion. This comforting dish combines fresh jalapenos with a creamy cheese filling, seasoned breadcrumbs, and can easily be customized to suit your flavor preferences.
Ingredients
12–15 large Jalapeno peppers
8 ounces Cream cheese, softened
1 cup Shredded cheddar cheese
1/4 cup Green onions, finely chopped
1/4 teaspoon Garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon Onion powder
1/4 teaspoon Black pepper
1/2 teaspoon Smoked paprika (optional)
1 cup Plain breadcrumbs
2 tablespoons Olive oil
Optional: 3-4 strips Beef bacon, cooked and finely crumbled
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Wash and dry jalapeno peppers, slice each in half lengthwise, and scoop out seeds and membranes
- In a bowl, mix together cream cheese, cheddar cheese, green onions, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and smoked paprika until smooth
- Stuff each jalapeno half with the cheese mixture, packing it slightly over the top
- Coat the stuffed side of each jalapeno in the seasoned breadcrumbs mixed with olive oil
- Place on a lined baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden and crispy
- Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving
Notes
Feel free to customize the filling with different cheeses or add ingredients like cooked chicken.
Use gloves when handling jalapenos to avoid irritation.
