A nostalgic Homemade Cheeseburger Pie that combines the flavors of a classic cheeseburger in a comforting pie form. It's easy to make and perfect for family dinners.
Ingredients
1 tablespoon Olive Oil
1 ½ pounds Lean Ground Beef
1 large Yellow Onion, finely chopped
2 cloves Garlic, minced
1 teaspoon Salt
½ teaspoon Black Pepper
1 teaspoon Smoked Paprika
½ teaspoon Garlic Powder
¼ cup Ketchup
2 tablespoons Yellow Mustard
1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
½ cup Dill Pickle Relish
1 (8-ounce) package Crescent Roll Dough
1 ½ cups Shredded Cheddar Cheese
½ cup Shredded Monterey Jack Cheese (optional)
2 large Eggs
½ cup Milk
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9-inch pie dish
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook until fully browned, then drain excess fat
- Add the chopped onion to the skillet and cook until softened. Stir in garlic, salt, pepper, smoked paprika, and garlic powder, cooking until fragrant
- Remove from heat and mix in ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and dill pickle relish
- Unroll the crescent roll dough into the prepared pie dish, sealing any seams if necessary
- Spread half of the cheddar cheese on the crust, then spoon the beef mixture on top, followed by the remaining cheese and optional Monterey Jack
- Whisk together the eggs and milk, then pour the mixture over the pie filling
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown and set
Notes
For a gluten-free version, use gluten-free crescent roll dough or pie crust.
You can substitute ground beef with ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option.
