Description
These Healthy Air Fryer Churro Bites are a guilt-free version of the classic treat, providing all the crispy, sweet cinnamon goodness without the deep-fried fuss. Perfect for a quick snack, family dessert, or fun breakfast treat.
Ingredients
1 cup (240ml) Water
1/4 cup (56g) Unsalted Butter
2 tablespoons Granulated Sugar (plus more for coating)
1/4 teaspoon Salt
1 cup (120g) All-Purpose Flour
1 Large Egg
1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
1/2 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon (for coating)
Cooking Spray (Avocado oil or Coconut oil recommended)
Instructions
- Combine Water, Butter, 2 tablespoons Sugar, and Salt in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a boil
- Remove from heat, add All-Purpose Flour, and stir until a smooth ball forms
- Cool slightly, then add beaten Egg and Vanilla. Mix well
- Spoon the dough into a piping bag fitted with a star-shaped nozzle
- Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 5 minutes
- Pipe 1 to 2-inch long pieces into the air fryer basket, leaving space for air circulatio
- Spray churro bites lightly with cooking spray and air fry for 10-12 minutes
- Meanwhile, mix 1/2 cup granulated sugar and 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon in a shallow dish
- Toss churro bites in the cinnamon sugar mixture while warm and serve
Notes
For a gluten-free option, substitute all-purpose flour with a gluten-free baking flour blend.
Dairy-free option available by using plant-based butter.
