Description
Bake warm, tender banana “donut hole” bites with only 3 ingredients: ripe bananas, finely ground oat flour, and cinnamon. Naturally sweet, gluten-free friendly, and ready in minutes for quick desserts, snacks, or breakfast treats.
Ingredients
CORE (3 INGREDIENTS)
- 2 large very ripe bananas, mashed smooth (about 1 cup)
- 1 cup finely ground oat flour (or 1 cup almond flour for grain-free)
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Optional: Pinch fine sea salt
OPTIONAL FINISHERS
- Cinnamon sugar (1/4 cup sugar + 1 tsp cinnamon)
- Warm maple syrup (for drizzling)
- Melted dark chocolate (for dipping or drizzle)
- Shredded coconut or crushed GF grahams
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment.
2. Mash bananas until smooth. Stir in cinnamon and an optional small pinch of salt.
3. Fold in oat flour until a thick, scoopable dough forms. If too wet, add 1–2 Tbsp more flour.
4. Scoop 1-inch mounds onto the tray (use a small scoop). Lightly damp fingers help shape round “donut holes.”
5. Bake 12–15 minutes until set and lightly golden on the bottoms; tops should spring back.
6. Finish as desired: roll warm in cinnamon sugar or drizzle cooled bites with melted chocolate or warm maple.
Notes
Storage: Refrigerate in airtight container 4–5 days; freeze up to 2 months. Reheat 10–15 sec (chilled) or 25–35 sec (frozen).
Air fryer: 325°F for 8–10 minutes; use parchment liners.
Grain-free: Use almond flour 1:1; check earlier (browns faster).
Breakfast idea: Pair with yogurt and berries; dust with cinnamon.
Keep it 3-ingredient by using only bananas, oat flour, and cinnamon. Coatings are optional.
