Description

Crunchy Crispy Air Fryer Chicken & Mozzarella Wraps are an easy 30-minute dinner with juicy seasoned chicken, melted mozzarella, and a golden tortilla crisped in the air fryer. Perfect for busy weeknights, fall family dinners, or easy dinner recipes for 2.


Ingredients

  • 2 large boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into thin strips
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 medium flour tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter (for brushing)
  • Cooking spray (for air fryer basket)
  • Dipping sauce of choice (ranch, cowboy butter, or spicy mayo)

Instructions

1. Pat chicken dry and slice into thin strips so they cook quickly and evenly in the air fryer.

2. In a bowl, toss chicken with olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper until all pieces are well coated.

3. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Lightly spray or brush the air fryer basket so the chicken does not stick.

4. Place the chicken strips in a single layer in the basket and air fry for 12–14 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and cooked through (165°F / 74°C internal temperature).

5. Lay a flour tortilla on a clean surface. Add a layer of shredded mozzarella, then a few pieces of the cooked chicken, and (optional) a sprinkle of cheddar for extra flavor.

6. Roll the tortilla tightly like a burrito, tucking in the sides so the cheese does not leak out.

7. Brush the outside of the wrap lightly with melted butter for a golden, crispy finish.

8. Return the wraps to the air fryer, seam-side down, and air fry at 375°F for 4–6 minutes, turning once, until the tortilla is crisp and the cheese is melted.

9. Remove, let cool 1–2 minutes, then slice in half and serve with ranch, cowboy butter, or your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

For extra crunch, spray the wraps lightly with cooking spray before air frying.

You can use pre-cooked or rotisserie chicken to make this recipe even faster.

Swap mozzarella for provolone or Monterey Jack if you prefer a different melt.

Add bacon, jalapeños, or a drizzle of cowboy butter for a “cowboy wrap” twist.

Best served fresh, but leftovers can be reheated in the air fryer at 350°F for 5 minutes.
