Description

This Crockpot Hamburger Potato Casserole is a hearty, comforting meal with ground beef, potatoes, and cheese, perfect for busy nights or family gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 4 cups peeled and diced potatoes
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 cup frozen peas and carrots (optional)
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

1. Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat. Drain excess fat and transfer to the crockpot.

2. Add the diced potatoes, chopped onion, and frozen peas and carrots (if using) to the crockpot.

3. Mix the cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Pour over the ingredients in the crockpot.

4. Stir gently to combine all ingredients.

5. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until potatoes are tender.

6. Stir in half the shredded cheese just before serving. Top with remaining cheese and let melt.

Notes

For extra flavor, brown the beef with Worcestershire sauce or smoked paprika.

Use a mix of potato varieties for different textures.

Add a can of diced tomatoes or green chilies for a Southwestern twist.

Stir in fresh herbs like thyme or rosemary for a gourmet touch.

If reheating from frozen, add a splash of water or broth to prevent drying out.
