Description
Crispy Air-Fryer Banana Chips deliver golden crunch with minimal oil. Sweet or savory, these healthy chips make the perfect anytime snack.
Ingredients
- 3 firm bananas (yellow with green tips)
- 1 cup cold water + 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1–2 tsp neutral oil or oil spray (optional)
- Pinch fine sea salt
- Optional Sweet: 1 tsp cinnamon + 1–2 tsp coconut sugar
- Optional Savory: 1/2 tsp garlic powder + 1/4 tsp smoked paprika OR 1 tsp everything-bagel seasoning OR 1/2 tsp chili powder + lime zest
Instructions
1. Combine lemon juice and water. Slice bananas into 1/8-inch coins and soak 5 minutes.
2. Pat slices dry; mist with oil and season with salt and desired spices.
3. Arrange slices in a single layer in air fryer basket (perforated parchment optional).
4. Air-fry at 325°F (165°C) for 8–10 minutes. Flip, then cook another 6–10 minutes until golden.
5. Reduce to 300°F (150°C) for 2–6 minutes to dry. Cool fully on a rack before storing.
Notes
Use slightly underripe bananas for best crunch.
Dry slices completely before air-frying to avoid sogginess.
Cool fully before storing in airtight container with paper towel.
Re-crisp at 300°F (150°C) for 2–3 minutes if needed.
