Description

Cozy Lobster Pot Pie is a luxurious, comforting dish that celebrates rich flavors and tender textures, ideal for special occasions or luxurious weeknight indulgence.

Ingredients

Scale

2 tablespoons Unsalted Butter
1 medium Yellow Onion, finely diced
2 Carrots, peeled and finely diced
2 Celery Stalks, finely diced
1/2 cup All-Purpose Flour
4 cups Whole Milk, warmed
2 cups Lobster Broth or high-quality Vegetable Broth
1/2 teaspoon Dried Thyme
1/4 teaspoon Ground White Pepper
1/4 teaspoon Salt, or to taste
1 pound Cooked Lobster Meat, cut into 1-inch pieces
1 cup Frozen Peas, thawed
1 (14-ounce) package Puff Pastry, thawed
1 large Egg, beate
Fresh Parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and lightly grease a 9-inch pie dish or four individual ramekins
  2. Step 2: Melt the unsalted butter in a large pot over medium heat. Sauté the diced onion, carrots, and celery for about 8-10 minutes until softened
  3. Step 3: Sprinkle flour over the vegetables and stir constantly for 1-2 minutes to form a roux
  4. Step 4: Gradually whisk in warmed milk and lobster broth, cooking until thickened to a smooth consistency
  5. Step 5: Stir in thyme, white pepper, and salt. Adjust seasoning as needed
  6. Step 6: Remove from heat and fold in lobster meat and peas
  7. Step 7: Pour the mixture into the prepared dish
  8. Step 8: Roll out puff pastry and cut to fit over the dish. Cut slits for steam
  9. Step 9: Brush with beaten egg and bake for 25-30 minutes until the crust is golden and bubbly
  10. Step 10: Let rest for 5-10 minutes before serving

Notes

Use high-quality lobster for the best flavor.

Warm milk to prevent lumps in the sauce.

Cut slits in the pastry to let steam escape and avoid sogginess.
