- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup your favorite BBQ sauce (homemade or store-bought)
- 6 strips beef bacon, cooked crispy and crumbled
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish, optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels. In a small bowl, combine smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Rub this spice mixture evenly over both sides of each chicken breast
- Heat the olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned chicken breasts and sear for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brow
- Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven. Bake for 10-15 minutes, until the chicken is almost cooked through
- Remove the skillet from the oven. Spoon BBQ sauce over each chicken breast, top with crumbled bacon and shredded cheese
- Return to oven and bake for another 5-10 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and chicken reaches 165°F (74°C)
- Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley, if desired
