Description

This Cinnamon Apple Cake is a comforting classic that embodies warmth and nostalgia, filled with warm spices and tender apple pieces nestled in a moist crumb, creating a delightful hug in cake form.


Ingredients

2 cups All-purpose flour
1 teaspoon Baking soda
1 teaspoon Baking powder
1 teaspoon Ground cinnamo
½ teaspoon Ground nutmeg
¼ teaspoon Ground ginger
½ teaspoon Salt
½ cup Unsalted butter, softened
1 cup Granulated sugar
½ cup Packed light brown sugar
2 large Eggs, at room temperature
1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
½ cup Full-fat milk, at room temperature
3 Medium apples, peeled, cored, and diced
Optional: 2 tablespoons Granulated sugar
Optional: ½ teaspoon Cinnamo


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pa
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and salt
  3. In another bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk, starting and ending with the dry ingredients
  6. Fold in the diced apples gently until evenly distributed
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly
  8. If desired, mix the optional sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle it over the top
  9. Bake for 45-55 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clea
  10. Cool in the pan for 15-20 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely

Notes

For best results, use room temperature ingredients.

Toss apples with flour to prevent them from sinking.
