Ingredients
2 cups All-purpose flour
1 teaspoon Baking soda
1 teaspoon Baking powder
1 teaspoon Ground cinnamo
½ teaspoon Ground nutmeg
¼ teaspoon Ground ginger
½ teaspoon Salt
½ cup Unsalted butter, softened
1 cup Granulated sugar
½ cup Packed light brown sugar
2 large Eggs, at room temperature
1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
½ cup Full-fat milk, at room temperature
3 Medium apples, peeled, cored, and diced
Optional: 2 tablespoons Granulated sugar
Optional: ½ teaspoon Cinnamo
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pa
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and salt
- In another bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk, starting and ending with the dry ingredients
- Fold in the diced apples gently until evenly distributed
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly
- If desired, mix the optional sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle it over the top
- Bake for 45-55 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clea
- Cool in the pan for 15-20 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely
