1 cup Full-fat Milk, at room temperature
2 tablespoons Fresh Orange Zest
1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
½ cup Chocolate Chips


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×5-inch loaf pa
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk
  6. Fold in the orange zest and chocolate chips
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top
  8. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clea
  9. Let cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes, then remove from the pan and cool completely
  10. Prepare the optional glaze by whisking together powdered sugar and fresh orange juice, then drizzle over the cooled cake
