Description
Moist and tender chocolate chip pumpkin bread filled with warm spices and gooey chocolate. Perfect for cozy fall baking.
Ingredients
- 1 ¾ cups (220 g) all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
- ¼ teaspoon ground ginger
- ¼ teaspoon ground cloves
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar
- ½ cup (100 g) packed light brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup (240 ml) pumpkin purée
- ½ cup (120 ml) vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup (175 g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
2. In a bowl, whisk flour, leaveners, salt, and spices.
3. In another bowl, whisk pumpkin, sugars, eggs, oil, and vanilla.
4. Fold dry ingredients into wet until just combined.
5. Toss chocolate chips with 1 tbsp flour and fold into batter.
6. Pour into loaf pan and smooth top.
7. Bake 55–65 minutes, until toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
8. Cool in pan 10 minutes, then transfer to wire rack.
Notes
For extra pumpkin flavor, use a full 15 oz can of purée.
Tent loaf with foil if browning too quickly.
Loaf tastes even better the next day.
