Ingredients
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup light brown sugar
¼ cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract
2½ cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
1½ cups semi-sweet chocolate chips (plus more for topping)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease or line a 9” round cake pan.
2. Cream butter and sugars until light and fluffy.
3. Add eggs and vanilla; mix to combine.
4. Whisk dry ingredients separately and add to wet.
5. Fold in chocolate chips; press dough into pan.
6. Top with extra chips; bake 22–26 mins until edges are golden.
7. Cool in pan 15–20 minutes before slicing.
Notes
Do not overbake if you want a soft center.
Try flavor twists like peanut butter, s’mores, or white chocolate.
Decorate with frosting for parties or birthdays.
