Description

Chocolate Bronuts are rich, chocolatey treats that are soft and pillowy on the inside with a crispy exterior. They are easy to make and can be enjoyed plain or glazed for an indulgent dessert experience.

1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
6 cups Vegetable Oil, for frying
2 cups Powdered Sugar
½ cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
¼ cup Milk
2 tablespoons Unsalted Butter, melted
1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
Pinch of Salt


Instructions

  1. Activate the Yeast: Combine warm water and a pinch of sugar in a bowl, sprinkle yeast, and let sit until foamy
  2. Prepare the Dough: Mix warm milk, remaining sugar, egg, melted butter, and vanilla with the yeast mixture. Combine separated dry ingredients and gradually add to the wet mixture until shaggy dough forms. Knead until smooth
  3. First Rise: Grease a bowl, place dough in it, cover, and let rise until doubled
  4. Shape the Bronuts: Punch down, roll out dough, and cut out shapes
  5. Second Rise: Cover shaped bronuts and let rise until puffy
  6. Prepare the Glaze: Whisk together glaze ingredients until smooth
  7. Fry the Chocolate Bronuts: Heat oil to 350°F and fry bronuts until golden brow
  8. Glaze and Serve: Dip bronuts in glaze and allow excess to drip off
