This Cheeseburger French Fry Bake combines seasoned ground beef, delicious sauce, perfectly cooked French fries, and a generous layer of cheese, creating a hearty and comforting dish that delights the entire family.
Ingredients
1 tablespoon Olive oil
1 ½ pounds Ground beef (80/20 lean)
1 large Yellow onion, chopped
2 cloves Garlic, minced
1 teaspoon Salt
½ teaspoon Black pepper
1 teaspoon Smoked paprika
½ teaspoon Garlic powder
¼ teaspoon Onion powder
½ cup Beef broth
½ cup Ketchup
¼ cup Yellow mustard
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon Brown sugar (optional)
1 (28-ounce) bag Frozen crinkle-cut French fries
2 cups Shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1 cup Shredded mozzarella cheese
Optional toppings: Sliced pickles, Chopped tomatoes, Chopped lettuce, Sesame seeds
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat and cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat
- Add chopped onion and cook until softened. Stir in minced garlic and spices, cooking until fragrant
- Pour in beef broth, ketchup, yellow mustard, and Worcestershire sauce, bringing to a simmer. Let it gently bubble for 5-7 minutes
- Spread frozen French fries in a single layer in the prepared baking dish
- Pour the beef mixture over the fries, spread out evenly, then sprinkle with cheddar and mozzarella cheese
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until the cheese is melted and golden brow
- Let it rest for 5-10 minutes before serving with optional toppings
Notes
Do not thaw the French fries before baking to ensure they stay crispy.
