Ingredients
1 sheet (about 14 ounces or 400g) ready-made puff pastry, thawed
4 ounces (about 113g) blue cheese, crumbled
1/2 cup (about 60g) walnuts, finely chopped
2 tablespoons fresh thyme leaves, finely chopped
1 large egg, whisked (for egg wash)
1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
1 teaspoon honey (optional)
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Pinch of salt (optional)
Instructions
- Lightly flour a clean surface and unfold the thawed puff pastry sheet
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper
- In a small bowl, mix blue cheese, walnuts, thyme, black pepper, and honey
- Brush puff pastry with olive oil and spread the cheese mixture over half
- Fold the pastry over the filling and seal the edges
- Cut into strips and twist each strip several times
- Place twisted strips on the baking sheet and brush with egg wash
- Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown and puffed
- Cool slightly before serving
