Description

Baked Ham and Cheese Croissants are flaky croissants filled with savory ham and gooey melted cheese, perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a light dinner.

Ingredients

Scale

6 large Croissants
12 slices Deli Ham
6 slices Cheddar Cheese
1 large Egg
1 tablespoon Water
12 tablespoons Dijon Mustard (optional)
1 tablespoon Fresh Chives or Parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper
  2. Slice each croissant horizontally, leaving a small hinge intact
  3. Spread Dijon mustard on the bottom half of each croissant if using
  4. Layer 2 slices of ham and 1 slice of cheese in each croissant
  5. Reassemble and arrange croissants on the baking sheet
  6. Whisk together egg and water to make an egg wash
  7. Brush the tops of each croissant with egg wash
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown and cheese is melted
  9. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving

Notes

Day-old croissants hold their shape better when sliced.

Don't overfill the croissants to prevent sogginess.
