Description
These Baked Apple Fritters are a cozy fall treat — golden brown, lightly glazed, and full of real apple pieces and cinnamon flavor without the frying mess.
Ingredients
- 2 medium apples (Honeycrisp, Fuji, or Granny Smith), peeled and chopped
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ¼ tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- ¼ tsp nutmeg
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 large egg
- ¼ cup milk (or almond milk)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tbsp melted butter
- Optional glaze: ½ cup powdered sugar + 1–2 tbsp milk + ¼ tsp vanilla
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. In a medium bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
3. In another bowl, whisk egg, milk, melted butter, vanilla, and sugars.
4. Add wet mixture to dry ingredients and fold gently.
5. Stir in chopped apples.
6. Drop spoonfuls of batter onto prepared sheet.
7. Bake 15–18 minutes or until golden brown.
8. Drizzle with glaze while warm.
Notes
Use firm apples like Honeycrisp or Granny Smith.
Brush fritters with butter before baking for extra color.
Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
Freeze up to 2 months and reheat before serving.
