Hi there! I’m Sarah, a 40-year-old self-taught baker living in a cozy little town outside Asheville, North Carolina. I never thought I’d call myself a “chef,” but here I am, with flour in my hair, a whisk in hand, and a heart full of love for all things sweet and oven-baked.

My baking journey didn’t begin in a fancy culinary school—it started in my grandmother’s kitchen, watching her roll out pie dough with the grace of someone who’s done it a thousand times. She didn’t use measuring cups. She just knew. As a kid, I’d perch on a stool beside her, sneaking bits of dough when she wasn’t looking and asking far too many questions. She never minded. I think she secretly loved having a little apprentice.

I didn’t bake my first cake alone until I was in college. It was a disaster—lopsided, too sweet, and slightly burnt on one side. But I was hooked. There was something magical about watching a mess of ingredients transform into something comforting and beautiful. So I kept going. I baked for friends, for roommates, for neighbors.
